yup just i suspected, i had just recieved back an email back from my friend and they
had stated that yahoo DOES NOT send emails saying that they will cut you off of services
both free and paid other than that of recieving a complaint about you for email abuse,
further more they added that they will not cut services because of this, knowing
all the junk that slips by in the email, you will simply recieve a courtesy mail
dameon saying that a virus was detected but removed and that that mail is protected
to let you aware of what it looks like and NO link is provided within the warning
text of the mail they sent, it will usually be highlighted in blue or purple on the
"from" box. they scan the mail themselves with a contract through symantec and DO
NOT provide links thereof, in other words its up to you to go and purchase antivirus
software for your computer. i have been a "plus" subscriber for about 3years, and
used thier free services for about 4 years before that, and had recieved many strange
emails, usually i dont open them in anyway, i delete and empty the trash bin. they
had also stated that you should practice the same security rule because they cannot
provide total protection, but do thier best in trying to protect your email both
incoming and outgoing...whew.....- joe
