auto shutdown

I have a pc with dual boot ME and XP. XP will automatically turn the computer off
at shutdown, ME does not. I always get the 'it is safe to turn off your computer'
and then have to manully shut it down. does anyone know what to change to make it
turn off at shutdown? Al
