Trouble with MSPaint

Lately, my Microsoft Paint has been doing this really ridiculous thing
where it won't start up unless a certain .bmp file is in a directory.

Whenever I attempt to open up a .bmp, it gives
the error:

"C:\EVERYTHING\this.bmp was not found".

This was because I used to have a .bmp file called "this"
in that certain directory. To combat that problem, I made a new
"this.bmp" in that directory so I could open Paint, but now whenever
I try to load up a .bmp in a folder, MSPaint loads up with "this.bmp"
instead of what I wanted.

I think something's been screwing with my settings or something, but
whatever it is, I'm getting very angry about it, as I use MSPaint quite
often. How do I fix this problem?
