ArcSoft Photo Studio 2000-File Association problems

I have been trying to download several programs(including a patch from ArcSoft) and
Photo Studio insists on opening them. When it tries, it comes up as unsupported.
I have tried several methods that normally work to change associations,(such as open
with) but I can't make it work.
Anyone know how to change the file association so that Photo Studio does not automaticly
try to open JPG's?
