Most valid entries in the MSCONFIG Startup list should be disabled from within
the programs setup options and preferences, or it will just put the Startup entry
back the next time you run the program because you have it set to do this. Normally,
if the program has an icon in the SysTray at the lower right, you can click on it
and get to the programs preferences. Those like AOL, MS WORD and OFFICE, RealPlayer,
etc. all have this option.
Spyware/Adware programs ad virus are a different issue. They have to be ripped
out of the system to keep them putting themselves back into the Startup List.
Really helps to know what program entries you are talking about.
