I have one more item to add to this thread.
Norton adds lines to the HOSTS file in the Windows directory.
127.0.0.1 pop3.norton.antivirus
127.0.0.1 pop3.spa.norton.antivirus
If the HOSTS file is overwritten by Spybot or Adaware etc, the email scanning may
longer work.
