Thanx again everyone,
I am still having some problems. I think I'm on the right track with Jacks' post
about some program re-installing itself after start up. I can go into safe mode
and run my ad-aware,spy-bot SD, Norton 2004,disc cleanup, scan disc, and defragmenter,
and when I restart after this I always get a black screen that says basically wait
a minute we have to update your configuration files.......Files have been updated
continuing to load Windows. Maybe this is re-installing something? If it is then
why can't all the previous programs find it and get rid of it? Is Norton really
as good as it says or is there a better AV program out there. I really don't care
what it costs just so long as it stops what it says it will. I hate cleaning out
my system as well as I can ( I am a bit computer illiterate) and then see "updating
your files" and then all the pop-ups start again. The only ones I get say "Click
to Bookmark" at the top. They come even if I'm not using IE. All I have to be is
connected to my ISP.
If anyone else has any more ideas I would gladly bake cookies and send them.
Thanx again,
Sincerely Jeff
