Keith,

If you know which update it was, you should be able to remove it.

     MSINFO32.exe "TOOLS" menu.

Then think about NOT using Windows Intenet Explorer
and Outlook / Outlook Express.

I have remove Outlook Express and the Rest of the Wallet, et. cetera,
from my P.C.s, everytime I install any version of Windows.

I refuse to use the Address Book & Wallet & Outlook
Express.
In my opinion they are nothing but troubles waiting to happen.
Have you tried Opera? FireFox?

The only thing I have been able to find with anything to do with
DDE Services troubles, are
in Outlook Express, & Internet Explorer in Windows ME.

Here is a list of Security Bulletins @ Microsoft Technet,
You can see for yourself why I don't use the products.
Security Bulletins

Sorry, I really could not find an answer.

I would write to or call Microsoft and tell them what is
going on.
This is probably happening to more people than anyone
can imagine and they are getting away with it.
