First thing is to ask if you have recently installed Windows Media Player 9? By recently,
I mean is this a problem since you have installed the program?
If the answer is yes! the next question is did you install the patch first?
Having had the same or similar problem, the real only solution is to completly wipe
your system and reinstallating again. WMP9 has a serious bug that distroys system
restore. For some reason they so not widely publise this. They have now issued WMP10.
I think I will wait a little while before installing this.
After many months of trying to fix my restore problem I was left with no choise but
to completely reinstall my ccomplete system. All is not totally lost as you can back
up your data, dialups, messages and other personal items first.
the may now be another way of resolving this but I was directed to this solution
by another geek.
Regards,

Steph
