Work through all of  page as it should help find out what is causing this switch in focus.
It could be all sorts of Spyware/ADware or other Malware, or even Windows scheduled
tasks running in the back ground, such as Automatic Windows/IE updates. Be sure to
go through the process of disabling System Restore once to clear the old restore
files and this can cause problems like that if these files are corrupted.
