With some help, I have my computer running. I was able to have a friend come help
me and for reference I just want to share how we solved the problem. It took a few
hours of fiddling to get to the simple solution
He had a boot disk that would get the system to start in dos mode. Renamed the SHLWAPI.DLL
to SHLWAPI.OLD. Then Copied a newer version from his laptop, XP SHLWAPI.DLL to the
Windows/system folder and it worked!
Note: I had tried to copy the file both from a 98 version and downloaded a ME version
but neither worked. I don't know why the ME version didn't work but at least the
XP did and that was it.
:) :) :)!!!!
Thanks for your help!!!!! I really appreciate it!!!!
