Disk drives can run quite hot (over 120) if there is not good air flow around
it. But you want it to be as low as practical, as it will last longer if it is kept
cool. I would be happy with it staying no more than 10 degrees above the average
inside the case temperature.
I usually mount a small fan inside to blow on to or across the disk drives.
