This WORKS! Thank you so much, I was starting to pull my hair out!
This worked with downloader.delf.5.av (aka delf-5, delf.5) trojan horse
On a windows ME
AVG Anti-Virus found the file but could not do anything with it. I tried to find
it via search but it is a hidden file so I had to go into windows me file folder>tools>folder
options>view>"Hidden files and folders" select "show hidden files and folders"
I then found the file that avg had described to me (*****.cpy (yours will be different
since this name (a number) is made up by your computer for a restore point)) and
found it.
I didn't delete the whole _restore file because I wanted my other restore points
just in case.
It did not let me delete it, and I even went so far as to try to take a non offending
.cpy next to it, copy it, rename it with the offending file name on the desktop and
then try to overwrite it) So I had to get the boot disk, restart, and follow these
directions.)
I restarted and AVG didn't find the file and I could not find it either.
Thank you again!
Steve
Thanks again.
