Recently while trying to update my display driver, since I was going to try out the
new Half life 2 demo and would need a better driver( since it recommended that i
need an update my display driver to be able to play the game) I went to nvidia.com
but really couldnt find any driver with my driver download(my video card is Nvidia
Vanta/Vanta LT). Well i went through and tried updating my drivers which ended up
in my computer saying all kinds of display problems. It would say things alongs the
lines of "display adapter not configured properly"(and could only do things in safe
mode) and sometimes while trying to go into Device manager and hiting the "update
driver" button sometimes it could not find certain files, and then i would have to
tell it to search in my "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\REINSTALLBACKUPS\PCI#VEN_10DE&DEV_002C&SUBSYS_001C10DE"
folder it would successfully install but it would then say it would not do the change
due to the fact that it may not have been tested by microsoft. Later while trying,
i told it to do the change anyways, and my computer seems like its almost close to
normal now, except the fact its stuck on 16 colors and is displaying in 640 x 480
and will not let me change it, even after i restart after trying to change it, it
continues to saty in 16 colors and 640 x 480. also my true colors display is missing
from the list. If anyone could please help i would really appreciate it.
