No data in add/remove programs

When I go to the control panel and try to add/remove a program there are no programs listed. Now I am having trouble getting my computer to stay up and am getting error messages concerning some dll files. About a month ago I did have a virus but my anti virus software said it took care of it. Any suggestions appreciated.
