Jack, I ran the scandisk (thorough) and disk cleanup in safe mode. I also ran spot & lavasoft's ad-adware which allowed me to delete a lot of those files. I had to use my laptop to save the programs to a disk as I could not download them on the pc. I also ran a complete anivirus scan with norton...I also ran cwshreder...I am still experiencing the same problems....Someone suggested that it is a outlook or word 2000 issue. They recommended that I delete the Normal.dot and the shortcut to the recyling bin.
