It may not be available to you, now that you've returned to a previous version. I could be mistaken, but It doesn't sound like the problem is IE itself. Many malwares attach themselves to IE and casue strange problems, and it sounds like a malware infection of some kind. Is this the only problem you're having on your system? What programs did you use to scan with?
