When you boot into Safe Mode, run SCANDISK first. Always run Scandisk
befor trying to run DEFRAG on a system with problems. There should not be any other
programs running when you boot into Safe Mode. If it is, it is most likely a worm
or virus. If you have a broadband connection, unplug it and see if that helps.
