To change the homepage, go back into Internet Options. Press About Blank to clear
that window. Type in the webiste address (URL) of your choice. Hit Apply.
Then there were the connection problems, and AOL complicates things, when it comes
to fixing problems. As long as you have that software installed, you have to deal
with the problems it causes, whether or not you're using the browser. AOL installs
it's own network adapters and often the AOL Adapter gets corrupt and needs to be
removed, etc. in order to repair it. It's been so long, I'd have to think on that
for awhile to get the steps down correctly.
First, run the IE repair tool. You need to nothing but make the choice. Make sure
all browser windows are closed. Go into Add/Remove programs. Click to highlight 'Internet
Explorer' in the list. Then press the Add-Remove tab - in the window that opens,
choose Repair I.E. OK - Yes. If you get a message saying it can't be repaired, you'll
need to reinstall it.
"Should I re-enable my system restore?"
You can, but it's not that reliable. Don't depend on it to bail you out trouble.
It's best to have another backup system. Check Jack's web page and add it to your
Favorites. An excellent source for ME users. I posted a link in your other thread.
You should set a size limit on the Restore volume, if you do use it, or it can fill
your hard drive.
I don't know about the printer problem, so I suggest you can start a new thread on
