Windows Update Problem

Whenever I use Windows Update and download it messes up my computer. When I now
start my computer it starts in safe mode, then when I get it running in right mode
it hangs on me. The only I can get it to run right now is to do a systems update
everytime. I don't know what files to try and delete. Any suggestions?
