Go into the Control Panel, open the Network applet - for Primary Network Login choose
Windows Logon. Password Properties - Check 'all users of this PC use the same preferences
and desktop settings.' That's normally all that's necessary.
Additionally, while in the Network applet, remove unnecessary network devices. There
are several installed by default, that are not needed in every case. If you're not
networked, remove Client for MS Networks, NetBEUI, and IPX/SPX Compatible.
If you have an Ethernet card (NIC) installed but aren't using it, go into Device
Manager click the plus + sign. Highlight the device - choose Properties - Disable
it.
Remove Passwords:
Go to C:\Windows
Delete all .pwl files
Go to Run > Sysedit
Open system.ini
Delete all lines under
[Password Lists]
Close and Save changes
