Hi Rose.
Glad to see you are finally trying to add some memory to that old box. It will
make a difference in how long it takes to boot up the system and do things.
You needed to look around on some of the other web pages related to that link
to the Compaq site. All the information is there, if you look long enough.
The one you need for the memory module plugging is:
Memory
Socket and Memory Module
Looking from the back of the system, it should be just behind where the printer
plug (wide plug) is and to the right. When you plug the module in, note the position
of the two "slots" in the edge of the module, and line them up with the guide inside
the socket. It can only go one way. Be sure to push the locking tabs on each end
back, they should both snap up into place as the module is pushed in, and lock into
the notch on each end of the module.
However, the reason you can not see it is because it is under a Air Baffle cover
attached to the power supply box.
Lift
Air Baffle up
You have to lift it up from the right edge. (Looking from the back, the edge you
lift will be near the center of the box near the back.
