I have made some progress. I went into my registry editor and I have my active desktop
back now. I will soon post the steps I took in order to retrieve that function very
soon for future users with my same problem. This is a learning experience for me
as well. If anything, I think I have at least confined the Trojan to just being a
sitting duck in my system. I haven't noticed any other malfunctions related to it
at this time.
