I recently had to use my system recovery CD's to do a software recovery etc.
And it changed my browser back to IE5 which is no big deal or hasn't been in the
past because all I usually needed to do was install the IE6 update and would be good
to go.
This time the IE6 does it's load thing..the Windows Update page shows IE6 has been
downloaded successfully. But when I restart as prompted I get a errow window stating
the intall was not complete or halted and to resume or start anew..I click either
of those options and get a error box that says:
"setup was not able to install all the componets, please close all applications running
and try running setup again"
I have done that several times, closed anything that even looked like it was running...did
a cnt/alt/delete and closed all programs in the box there..except it wouldn'y close
the the "expolor" listed in the box and would always bring up the standy, hibernate,
re-start or shut option box when I tried to close the "explorer prograsm which would
be the only one left in there.
Don't know why this is doing this now ..I have had to reformat and reinstall all
this stuff before with no problem.
