Just a follow-up on my specific case. I deleted the ShellIconCache file that
was recommended to do in the MSKB article (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q132/6/68.asp).
Bootup went fine... Icons populate fine on the desktop. But now there is no
sign of the ShellIconCache file! Interesting. According to the article, I had
the impression that file was supposed to regenerate or refresh.
