I've had this problem in the past & actually had it tonight also, some of the answers 
here got me thinking - so heres what I tried (& it worked).
1.Create a blank text document in the folder containing the uninstaller (unwise.exe 
in our example) & the install.log.
2. In the blank text document type the name of the uninstaller (here unwise.exe) 
leave a space & then type install.log.
( so in this example i've typed unwise.exe install.log)
3. save this tsxt document as 'uninstall.bat'
4. doubleclick this simple .bat file to run it & it will launch the uninstaller.

can't believe it took me this long to think of this solution.
