The Salesman could have had Computers that had other software installed that he was comparing. Neither XP Pro or Home have any Office or Works programs built into the OS. They have the same basic stuff that has come with all Windows OS over the last ten years, like Notepad, Wordpad etc. Pro has a few other things geared towards Corporate Customers, but a Home User using both won't really notice any difference. I have computers with both, and don't have any real preference. If you want to Know the exact differences, and Know how to use Google, you could find a Comparison of the two.
