If you go to Start - HELP and in the search box, enter "drivespace". That
will take you to a link on using drivespace3.
There you will find a short page about using drivespace3. It will tell you everything
you need to know about how to install the compressed drive support if it is missing
or not installed. How to use it to read and compress diskettes, and how to read and
uncompress disk drives. It also points out that with Windows ME you can not
compress disk drives.
The maximum drive size supported by DriveSpace is smaller than is needed to install
and run a typical Windows ME system.
Trying to run a compressed drive with Windows ME would just make the system too
slow. And many of Windows ME's files are already compressed. And you have the built
in Compressed folder support that you can use. By making a compressed folder, you
can move large compressible text files into them to save disk space.
Try running System Tools - Disk CleanUp utility. Try getting rid of excess MPG
and picture files. Or if necessary, get a bigger disk drive.
