I recently wiped clean an old Dell and did a fresh install of Windows ME. (I believe it was running on 2000 before I did the clean install.) I did this so I could use my scanner, which is only compatible with ME. I managed to get the scanner working, got a bunch of pics on the computer, only to find out that the computer doesn't want to cooperate with me and burn them onto disk. It reads the CD ROM drive; I can play music CD's, use software CD's, even get data from previously burnt CD-R's. But when I put in a blank CD-R, it's as if there's no disk in the drive. "Please insert a CD-ROM into Drive D." This is confusing considering before I wiped the system clean, I was able to burn CD's and such with the same computer. Do I need a driver or something? Because if I can't burn CD's like I was able to before, all my troubles getting my scanner working was for nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
