For such a cheap card, Verizon can not afford to supply much support. Seems there is some problems with some Compaq systems and Verizon has no solution for the problem. Sounds like they are just passing their problem off to someone else. Seems these EVDO cards have a history of not working with some models of laptops. See this example of the types of hits searches get. They should have drivers with them or available, and there are web sites that support the EVDO cards, where such information would be available.
