With only 64MB of memory, your system is going to be slow booting. The Firewall
programs are always very slow loading, and Norton's AV has to load and process some
very large DAT files at the same time. These two programs require a lot of memory
and it is causing a lot of disk swapfile thrashing during booting, making it very
slow.
I would recommend you inventory your current memory modules and memory sockets
and determine what type and size of Memory modules you can upgrade with. Having just
128MB would make a noticeable difference. Then keep your eye open for good sells
on the memory you need or look around for someone getting rid off their old machine
that has memory you can use.
