Here's a quick fix our IT gave me at work -- applies to Win XP SP2 and maybe other
environments as well --
Press CTL-ALT-DEL and select Task Manager. Click on File menu and select New Task
(Run...). Type in 'explorer'. This loads up the shell interface for Windows.
You no longer have to revert to previous registry or hard disk settings! :)
