Try and get your hands on an ME disk. Borrow one if you know someone who has one. While you're at it have them make you an ME startup floppy from their system and if possible make you a copy of their CD. Tell them you don't want their CD key number, just a copy of the CD. Or, find one cheap on Ebay. Run the System File Checker (SFC). The command is "sfc /scannow" (without quotes of course). If it finds any missing or corrupted files it will replace them. Hopefully your system has a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) sticker on it somewhere. That's the original installation key number. If worse come to worse and you have to reinstall, any ME disk will work with that number.
