Hi Larry,thank you for your initial advice.
I obtained a copy of the winME disk and went to install it.The scandisk opened and
checked the system and reported all was ok.
However when i continued with the process to re-install i got the message:
Standard mode:fault outside of ms-dos extender EC=0000 CS=031f IP=28D0 AX=00A0 BX=0080
CX=8080 DX=9FCO
SI=0080 DI=5830 BP=0136 DS=0277 ES=0317 SS=027F SP=01A8
I dont know what that is at all??
Also the command sfc /scannow is not recognised by dos when i use a boot disk.
I really dont know what the problem is.
