Drive mapping

When I map a drive on a Win ME machine to a folder 3 levels down on the server, it
ignores the last layer. Example,,, map drive V: to \\server\shared\marketing\images
and it ends up mapped to \\server\shared\marketing
Is this a limitation of Win ME?
