HI, I have a Gateway computer 900 mhz 128 MB ram and 20GB Seagate harddrive with some very important files that I need to retrieve. For some reason, every time I turn the computer on an error message pops up telling me to reinstall explorer.exe. I no longer have the win ME cd and can't reinstall it. However, I have another problem, I only have usb ports to plug my keyboard and mouse in to and the computer doesn't recognize either of them. So I can't start in safe-mode to see what may have caused this error. Out of desperation, I tried installing windows xp, but I can't install it because my computer doesn't recognize the keyboard and I've tried other keyboards and nothing happens. I've observed the lights of the keyboard go on momentarily, but then they turn off, same holds true for the mouse. Any help would be appreciated.
