When I booted up my computer today all of the programs in my start menu are gone as well as all of my windows setup components. I was able to get the components back (but not on the start menu) but all are reading 0.0 mb's which I assume is because I don't have any shortcuts anymore. I ran a search for *.LNK files and found a lot of my programs in the C:\Windows\ApplicationData\InternetExplorer\QuickLaunch could those be the same missing from start up? and some Microsoft Office under C:\MicrosoftOffice\Office\ShortcutBar\Office could those be the same missing from start up as well? Does anyone know how I can move them back or just restore the registry. A system restore did not do it. How about how to get the Windows Set Up Components back? I use the System Tools a lot! I found a few downloads for this but all were for XP.
