Dear C.K.: Your 1/22/07 message is not only very informative, but also very appreciated. You are 100 percent correct in your analysis with respect to my "found them to be sooted black from dried ink" post that you responded to. When i wrote "sooted black from dried ink", i actually ran a cotton from a Q-stick gently over the cartridge guide shaft. The result, a stain of black but not a stain that could be seen as if a leak was spewing ink somewhere. You appear to be interested in printers, as i have been told that this site is solely for computers, which is agree. So i went to fixyourownprinter.com and if you have not been there, i strongly recommend that you go there. When the window opens, scroll down to number six, Epson printers. At this site you will find a Epson Service Manuel that shows you everything there is about the printer. Oh, before i forget, if you are interested in the free service manuel click:http://www.wimtv.be/techniforum/files/smstc600.pdf. Thanks again C.K.......Elmoticky
