Reboot to DOS. Then issue this command at the C:> prompt: SCANREG /RESTORE and restore a previous good copy of the Registry dated before the problem occured. If the problem occured more than 5 days ago, and your machine only keeps backups for 5 days, issue this command: SCANREG /FIX and wait patiently! It may take MORE THAN 10 minutes. Your PC may appear to freeze, but this is normal. Wait patiently!
