Thanks for looking at my question! I'm afraid you're right. The problem is, I've tried to download the setup file for IE6 from microsoft.com on another computer, but when I move it to the computer with the problem and run it, it want's to contact the internet to download IE6! Which becomes a catch 22 as I can't get to the internet without installing IE so that I can correct the connection settings. Is there any version of IE below seven available in a setup file that doesn't try to connect to the internet? Carl
