There's a check-box to order IE to restart immediately, so if you leave it checked,
you do a circle and wind up moments later back with the 'fault' msg and IE closing
and starting again.
So, several times it's let me into the Net long enough for it to load Microsoft's
web site, but before you can take a breath... the error arrives and I'm shut out
again.
TROUBLE is, finding a 'complete' IE6 Program download to Flash on THIS PC, so I can
move it to MY Laptop - ONE THAT DOESN'T NEED TO TALK TO THE NET (/Microsoft), AS
IT INSTALLS: 'though I doubt MS would be so charitable;
OR, a complete copy of the Mshtml.dll VERSION 6.0.2600.0 to download and save to
Flash, which the literature and discussions say is actually the correct version for
WinMe.
ALSO... a 'complete' copy of the Service Pack ONE - again, one that doesn't need
to talk to the web as it installs, and again - doubt if MS will provide such a copy.
Does this clarify well enough? My access is limited - using someone else's computer
- WHEN and IF I can.
Right now... have to go as they need it. But will keep my ears open for more info..
