If you speaking of ECC registered memory, it will only work if your machine was designed
to work with it and in most cases it will not work with Non ECC memory. In best
case scenerios, the ECC part of the memory will be disabled when installed with non-ECC
memory. In other cases, it will not work properly or lock up your machine. Best
to cancel order or send it back if you can. Generally, unless your machine specs
call for it, or your machine already has registered memory in it, don't use it.
It differs in that it is pararity memory and works differently and thus, won't work
properly with non parity memory. Parity memory has extra protection so to speak
against data errors due to memory faults.
