Hi, It must be related to the problem I have on Windows XP. I have the same USB drive. It appears to take all my CPU when doing transfers from PC to USB drive (probably the same from USB drive to PC). It is particularly annoying on long transfers because during this time my network response is reallllllllllllly slowwwwwww! My connections to my network drives on my network are practically non-working (I wait forever!!) It even affects my local drives!!!! So, basically, I can't do anything else during this time (CTRL-ALT_DEL pops up the task manager but says "not responding" to my Explorer tasks)!!! So much for a 3.5 GHz machine eh! Slows to a crawl. When the transfers end, then my computer comes back to normal. In addition to this, the fastest I have gotten the transfers to work was about 4 Mbps!!! That's a far cry away from USB 2.0's theoretical limit of 480 Mbps isn't it! Really disappointing. I am trying to find out why it is so slow... Good luck!
