Thanks for your advice. I bought a Memory Card reader, and used it successfully. I was able to retrieve the files that had been accidentally deleted from my digital camera's SD card.

I bought the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media Reader & Writer Card Reader, from eBuyer.

I then installed a program called Smart Recovery and it successfully read the SD card in the Reader device, and recovered all the files on the first try.
