lite-on dvd combo with nero 7 software

the other day i purchased a lite-on dvd combo with -cr/cw drive. the box said it
was for window 98 2e/windows me/ and windows vista/
i installed the dvd rom drive into my pc, just as the instrustions said. and then
put the nero 7 essentials. software in, the software immediately said, " THIS VERISON
IS NOT FOR WINDOWS 95/98/ME.
so i have no software or driver support. i sent nero and lite-on 2 different emails
2 days ago, and used the support email address's on the box. and still no reply.?
i tried to play several movies, and the dvd interface comes up, the title of the
movie is displayed, but when i push play nothing happens?
the dvd rom acts like my old cd-rom, plays audio, software ect. but im sure i need
the drivers?
and i hate to take the whole thing apart and return it. does anyone know of any support
or software i can use?
my model is LITE-ON DVD C LH52C1P
again the box clearly says on it, front side, back side and the side of it.
OS REQUIREMENTS WINDOWS 98 2E/WINDOWS ME/WINDOWS VISTA.
I never would have brought it, had i known the software inside was windows vista
only. since i have windows me.
the manufacture date on the box says june 2007
im about to never purchase anything lite-on or nero again. any advice ? joe zark
