Nero 7 only supports W2K SP4 and higher. Nero 6 supports Win 95B, 98/SE, ME on up,
which is what I use on W2K and XP. Nero 7 is full of bugs and lots of complaints.
Most everyone I speak to agrees that the most stable version so far is Nero 6 for
DVD burning. Generally since Nero's earlier days, it has been on a downhill slide
IME.

You can read disks and play movies if you have a fast enough machine that has a DVD
software player installed, but you can not write a DVD until you get a software program
that can write DVDs. Nero 7 isn't an option for Win 9X. If you can find Nero 6
somewhere, then you might be in luck.

You choices are to find an OEM package of Nero 6, or one from Roxio. There are lesser
known apps, but I can't vouch for those. A Google search may help you there. Only
other choice is return the drive and try to find a unit bundled with Nero 6, or another
app that supports Win 9X, which I doubt you will find. You will probably have to
buy a program that will work in Win 9X either way, but that may not be easy as Win
9X support in this area has been dropped months ago as far as the major software
vendors for these particular utilities.

Good Luck!
