Verifying DMI Pool Data

My computer freezes at: "Verifying DMI Pool Data." I can't go any further than that.
I have tried all the troubleshooting provided on the Help page for Windows ME but
nothing works. Then I read on the Internet about setting "Reset configuration data"
to "Enable" to solve the problem.
How do I do that? Which keys do I use? I have tried Enter, it doesn't work; tried
Delete, no luck. I have also tried F5 F6 F7 and the rest, still no luck!
Any suggestions?
