Sounds like a big mess. I don't know how or why SR would foul things up, but it
sure did a thorough job. I think your only option is to reinstall WinMe (just don't
reformat the drive). It should leave your data and apps alone. I've had recent SR
problems of my own; I can't even create a restore point. Personally, I think it's
time to retire WinMe and move on to something else.
