Type %windir% in the address bar, and press enter. This should take you to the windows
folder. If that doesn't work, go to Start->Run, type
%windir%
and press Enter.
Someone might have set the folder to be hidden.
You can see hidden files and folders by going to Folder Options in the Control Panel.
In Folder Options, click on the "View" tab, and look for "Show hidden files and folders."
And for the "error in blah blah blah," if you google the actual error message or
error code, though it's tedious, you might be able to find a solution. Sometimes,
it has worked for me. Otherwise, I have no idea. Try FireFox or K-Meleon browser.
Can you do a System Restore to back before you started having these problems?
Also, it's just a thought: Restoring the registry with scanreg.exe while booted to
DOS sometimes fixes my errors, but you might not have registry backups from before
the problem began. You'd need to create an emergency boot floppy to try that. When
you are booted, type "c:\windows\command\scanreg" or wherever it is in your hard
drive, and then restore a backup, if you want to try that.
