This motherboard malfunction could be due to many problems like RAM failure, Low CMOS battery, ROM BIOS setup errors and such shortcomings. OK, there was a yellow exclamation mark on the left of the system board or device? Double-click it and click the Troubleshoot button. If the problem is with a device manager, u will, hopefully,be informed. A system board is a complicated PCB or printed circuit board, one or many things could be wrong. I found two websites informative and interesting: a) http:///networktutorials.info/computerhardware/system_board.html for "Motherboard Troubleshooting tutorials", and b) A second website dealing with motherboard and power supply problems at: http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/MotherboardProblems.htm. Let me hope this solves part of your problem. Best of luck.
